JUST A RIPPLE

" PHILOSOPHICALLY CORRECT TAXATION"

First:  A reminder, taxation is a taking.  It is not voluntary in either the amount nor when it is to be paid.  We are told when and how much we owe.

Second:  I feel that no one has the right to complain about paying taxes for if we are enjoying the benefits of where we live, then we should be willing to pay our fair share.  The problem is how do you define your fare share.  See 2203 for my answer; and perhaps you can think of a better one.  If so submit it.  We also have the freedom to move to any other country if we prefer their method or amount of taxation.

Third:   We all have the right, and, dare I say the responsibility of seeing that Taxation is properly collected and used for only the right purposes.  We have definitely not upheld our responsibility in this area these last few years.   The collection of the taxes and their spending has turned us into a socialistic style of life and made many of our citizens, dependent on the government instead of being citizens who are self reliant with their own means.

Fourth:   The collection of taxes as now practiced is far too expensive to the individuals, to corporations and to the government.   We need to modernize the system in several ways to reduce this cost and to better understand how and to what full extent we are taxed.

Fifth:   There are far too many varieties of taxes.  This increases the cost of collection and makes it difficult for the individual or the politician to fully understand the total amount paid.  See 2204

Sixth:    Taxes should never be used as a whip for one and a carrot for another.  It must be uniform in its application and collection.  Otherwise it is interfering with free market theory.   Hampering the free market choice based on true value and cost.
